アイルランドはこんな国

セントパトリックデーに寄せて

今日はセントパトリックデーです。

3月に入り、日本でもこの日にちなんだパレードがあちこちで行われています。

今年のこの日がＩＲＡ（アイルランド共和軍）の前身であるＩＲＢ（Irish Republican Brotherhood～アイルランド共和主義者同盟）の設立150年目に当たることなど、もう忘れられているかも知れません。

 

さて、セントパトリックデーでよく歌われるアイルランドの曲があります。

ある日、天界のかけらがポチョンと大西洋に落ちてきました。

それを天使たちが見つけました。

とても美しく静かなその場所に、天使たちは星くずをふり注ぎ、シャムロックにしました。

さらに、銀をばらまいて湖にし、大きくしていきました。

そして、全部やり終えた時、その場所をアイルランドと呼んだのです。

 

何とも少女趣味的な歌詞ですが、これを大のおとながみんなで歌うのです。

そして、アーティストによっては、歌う時にちょっとしたセリフを入れることがあります。
